Outstanding men’s shop in the south end for casual attire. Website includes most of their products but the shop itself is worth the visit.
Bobby from Boston – Boston, South End
One of the best vintage shops I’ve ever seen for men’s apparel. Granted it’s secondhand, but you’ll find fedoras, top-coats, grosgrain belts, boots, vests and a lot more. The layout and decor alone is worth the trip.
Ward Maps – Somerville, Porter Sq.
There’s something incredibly cool about a vintage map hung up in an office or the living room. Maybe it’s one of your other favorite cities or maybe it’s a view of Boston before Back Bay was created, but some of us can’t get enough of it. Have a penchant for old subway or city signs? Ward Maps has it all.
Q Audio – Cambridge, East MIT Campus
Although I take pride in repairing most of my own antique audio equipment, Darius at Q Audio solves all. He’ll repair your vintage Marantz or let you demo a brand new pair of Paradigm towers. The shop is small, but in an age where ‘experts’ seem to be spread thin, this shop is a gold. Just be warned… if you bring in something you bought at BestBuy, he might not take you seriously: the man is a true blue audiophile.
